Business Development Representative (BDR) at CitizenLab
We are looking for a Business Development Representative to act as the liaison between our Marketing and Sales teams. Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by reaching out to governments and developing relationships with potential customers. You should be deeply convinced of the value of community engagement, to sell and evangelize our vision of digital democracy to the public sector, and help us get new cities on board in France.
Your responsibilities will include:
Devise personalized, high-quality outreach campaigns to governments from start to end;
Prospect online and find new opportunities through keyword research, news articles, social media, etc;
Gather contact data and find creative ways to get in touch with officials through a value-driven approach;
Present our product to governments via email, phone calls, and video calls.
Support and collaborate with an international team of business developers to localize outreach campaigns;
Think along with Marketing on specific campaigns and value propositions;
Develop technical know-how of the product and help answer questions from prospective clients.
Test and develop outreach methods, analyse what worked and what didn't, and re-iterate to reach success from there.
You will be working with and supporting the Business Development Manager in France and our Head of Sales. You will thrive in this role if you enjoy working in an international environment.
What do we expect from you?
You like working in a small and agile team with a strong bias for action—we ideate, we experiment, we learn. 1-2 years experience in sales or marketing.
You have a hunter mentality, and enjoy finding and developing relationships with prospective customers
You are a great listener, and naturally curious.
You are versatile, and able to adapt your strategy based on a specific context. You can test new techniques and draw conclusions from the results.
Ability and excitement to work in a fast-paced environment. Team player spirit to thrive in a cross-functional and collaborative set-up.
Autonomous work style. You have the ability to lead and execute projects from start to finish, thanks to a strong skill set in project management and communication.
Proficiency in French. Fluency in English is mandatory and additional European languages are a strong plus.
Experience working with the sales tools is a plus (Salesforce, Outreach.io/Salesloft, Hubspot, Gong/Chorus…)
Based in Europe is preferred to ease our collaboration.
Eagerness to learn, talent, and enthusiasm are more important than ticking the boxes. Even if not all desired requirements are met, but you're very excited about the role, we want to hear from you.
