(Global) Growth Marketing Manager at CitizenLab

As our Global Growth Marketing Manager, you will be working closely with our Head of Marketing, Content Team, Local Marketing Managers and Country Managers to design local campaigns, maintain and grow our paid channels in six markets, optimize lead nurturing efforts, and drive our SEO strategy to bring in qualified leads. The ideal candidate has an analytical and performance-oriented mindset and is able to come up with new ideas and explore new growth opportunities for CitizenLab.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Campaign Design: design and execute multi-channel campaigns on a regular basis to increase our inbound leads based off market priorities, content calendar and local opportunities.
  • Paid Ads:  manage and optimize our paid ads (mainly Google and LinkedIn) to generate new leads.
  • Email Marketing: develop new and enhance the existing email automations to nurture the generated leads and push them towards conversion and ideate on new ways to increase our email subscription rate.
  • SEO: develop and drive our SEO strategy to help our content team optimize their articles for targeted keywords, while working with an external agency (or freelancers) to fine-tune and execute on the developed strategy.
  • Marketing Operations: ensure that the right data is collected, consistent, and leveraged across all touch points and tools.

What do we expect from you?

You like working in a small and agile team with a strong bias for action—we ideate, we experiment, we learn. You are curious, open-minded, and you proactively search for new insights in the field of digital democracy. Besides, you are eager to learn quickly and recognise yourself in the following profile:

  • You are data driven and result-oriented: you leverage data to hypothesise on new ideas, test and adapt them into concrete strategies.

  • You have experience (2-5 years) in B2B marketing (ideally with experience in Paid Marketing) and are able to understand how to design campaigns that are in line with content and sales strategies.

  • You have good excel skills and are able use our tools (such as Zapier) to set up automations and make sure the necessary data is collected and stored.

  • You are very familiar and comfortable with Google Tag Manager, Ads, Analytics, Search Console and Optimize.

  • More generally, tech-savvy and comfortable working with digital tools.

  • Ability and excitement to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Team player spirit to thrive in a cross-functional and collaborative set-up.

  • Autonomous work style. You have the ability to lead and execute projects from start to finish, thanks to a strong skill set in project management and communication.

  • You are fluent in English (knowledge of Dutch would or any other language would be a plus)

Eagerness to learn, talent, and enthusiasm are more important than ticking the boxes though. Even if not all desired requirements are met, but you're very excited about the role, we want to hear from you.

What can you expect from us?

  • Unlock your full potential and create social impact at scale through our open-source product. Day-to-day, we work with local government leaders across the world to help them connect with their communities.
  • Become a key factor in our rapid growth as scaleup (75 employees), and contribute to our international expansion.
  • Work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and supportive environment. We share a participatory culture of autonomy and ownership by everyone, not only by leadership.
  • Be part of our dynamic, international team. We are as serious about our work in digital democracy as we are about having fun on our journey together.
  • Enjoy an informal work vibe with open communication and full transparency on results.
  • Participate in our various in-person and remote team events, inspiring team lunches, our company book club, bi-quarterly strategic town halls, and yearly global team retreats.
  • Spend 10% of your time on personal projects and self-development for the long run. We’re committed to both collective and individual growth.
  • Receive a competitive salary package, incl. perks such as 26 paid time off, paid bank holidays, healthcare benefits, a professional development budget, a collective bonus plan, your own laptop, full flexibility on working from home, and much more.

CitizenLab is committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace. Whilst we are proud of our cultural diversity and gender parity, we are aware of the limited racial diversity in our team and are committed to making a change on this. We strongly encourage people of different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to apply.
