Communications Manager at CitizenLab


As our Communications Manager, you'll be responsible for raising brand awareness and building a strong online presence through social media, newsletters, and webinars. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with our Content Manager, Communications Lead and Head of Marketing to run integrated campaigns and explore and grow new brand channels. Together, you'll collaborate on shared goals around demand generation, ensuring that our brand reaches its full potential. Our six-person Marketing team means that you'll have plenty of opportunities to get hands-on and take ownership of projects. Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Developing and executing social media, newsletter, and webinar strategies to raise brand awareness and build a strong online presence.
  2. Collaborating closely with the Content Manager, Communications Lead, and Head of Marketing to run integrated campaigns and explore and grow new brand channels.
  3. Developing and maintaining relationships with key media contacts and influencers to increase brand visibility.
  4. Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve brand positioning and messaging.
  5. Managing the visualization of marketing existing designed materials and collateral, including videos, case studies, and whitepapers for social media using Canva.
  6. Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives.

Requirements

What do we expect from you?

You like working in a small and agile team with a strong bias for action—we ideate, we experiment, we learn. You are curious, open-minded, and you proactively search for new insights in the field of digital democracy. Besides, you are eager to learn quickly and recognize yourself in the following profile:

  • Demonstrable +2y experience in (digital) marketing or communications, including at least one year in social media strategy.

  • Expert in the social media marketing domain, as well as a good understanding of digital marketing channels such as email and SEM.

  • Tech-savvy and experienced working with digital tools. (Hootsuite, Salesforce, Mailchimp would be a plus). 

  • Ability and excitement to work in a fast-paced environment. Team player spirit to thrive in a cross-functional and collaborative set-up.

  • Autonomous work style. You have the ability to lead and execute projects from start to finish, thanks to a strong skill set in project management and communication.

  • Very good proficiency in English. (German, French, Dutch and other European languages are a plus. )

  • Be based in Europe as you would be working mainly with our European team and HQ in Brussels.
